Work and Bagpipes

Bagpipers from far and wide have descended on my place of work this week as the World Bagpipe Championships loom. Thus, I find myself sitting at my desk eating my lunch while drums roll and bags are inflated. Luckily, I quite like the sound... unlike many of my colleagues who seem to be on the verge of a break down. A week of the same tunes will do that to some folk.

They probably view me as a loony as I've opted to work on Sunday, subjecting myself to more of the same. I see it more as subjecting myself to more money. Ka-ching! That will take me to 3 weeks with one day off by the time 3 o'clock rolls round next Friday. That's if more overtime isn't offered for that weekend. What can I say, I guess I'm a workaholic.

I think I'll pop in to give blood when I finish today. You should too. Save a life. Maybe even your own. Your blood is checked for various things and something could be caught before it comes serious. So go ahead, help someone and help yourself.

I always joke that I'm technically a superhero because I have type O negative blood, which can be used on anyone. Sadly for me, I can only accept O negative. On the bright side, I don't plan on massive blood loss anytime soon.
